We have had a couple of exciting weeks lately!
Two weeks ago we were back in Iowa for Mom and Dad Kehrt's 40th wedding anniversary. It was a great weekend. My cousin Laura and her family were able to join us. Mom and Dad hosted a great party at PM park with another couple celebrating their 20th Anniversary. Emerson danced her little bum off, fell asleep at the party, got back up and rallied for dancing to the end of the party. It was a great time!
Friday night Emerson got to stay home with babysitter Sydney and have fun without Mom and Dad, while we had date night with Mike and Angela. We were able to score box tickets at the Sprint Center for the Sugarland Concert. It was a very good concert. Bruce didn't know any of their songs (they are country) but he said that they were a good band and he enjoyed the concert anyway. After the concert we walked over to Howl at the Moon to help my friend/co-worker Kim celebrate her 40th birthday. This bar is fun!!! It is a dualing piano bar. There are several singers that clearly have a lot of musical talent. The best, was a quiet guy that played the guitar most of the night. Late in the night he took his turn at the piano and did the absolute best rendition of the Miami Vice theme song we had ever heard. He even did the sound effects by voice only!!!
Saturday night we had the joy of babysitting BJ & Kelly Buehler's 3 kids (Brooklyn 6, Bailey 4, and Kelby 1) while they attended a wedding. Bruce was at a golf tournement for half the day so Mike and Angela came over to assist in coralling all of the children. We played cards, building blocks, and played in the back yard. The fun really got going when Bruce got home and he and Mike set up the slip and slide! I am not sure who had more fun going down the slide, the kids or Mike and Bruce!!! Emerson was so cold by the end that she was shivering and her lips were blue but there was nothing that was getting her out of the water without a fight. Once it got dark, Bruce and the girls had some good old fashion fun catching fire flies! It was a great night and we had so much fun spending time with the kids!
