The Oberle Telegraph: Weeks Vacation!

We spent the week vacationing in Clear Lake with Mom & Dad Kehrt. My brother and his family joined us as well. Saturday we headed north and made a pit-stop in Des Moines/Ankeny for my old-roomate Tanya's baby shower. She is due at the end of August to have a little girl. We were also able to see The Towns family as well.

From there we made our way to Clear Lake. We had a very relaxing week of family, sun, sand, and the lake. Emerson is a little waterbug and LOVED the pool and lake! She had a blast with her cousins. Ellen and Emerson played very well together and had a lot of fun in the pool. Of course she was given plenty of opportunity to be spoiled by Papa and Grandma Kehrt! We also enjoyed some of the local tourist attractions including the flower gardens in Clear Lake and Lime Creek Nature Preserve in Mason City.

Bruce did ride a little of RAGBRAI. It was fun but really not his deal in the end. He enjoyed biking with Dad, Noel, and Jack but probably wouldn't choose to spend an entire week of vacation on his bike.

We came home on Friday so we could get some of the stuff on our long need-to-get-done list. Emerson's big girl room is painted and ready to go! She actually did so good in a big-girl bed at Grandma and Papa Kehrts house that we (by we I mean Bruce) put together her big girl bed and she slept in it for the first time last night! She did great!!! She slept all night without any issues. She did wake up on Sunday morning, grab her pool floaty and walk over to me and said "Pool...swimming...." I told her that the pool was closed right now but maybe later. She looked at me very confused as to say "Hey Mom, that's crap, Grandma Kehrt's pool/lake NEVER closes!" We did take her to the pool later in the day and she kept asking where Noel was. As if he is suppose to be there with us! She had a great time with everyone and is ready to go back to the lake to swim and spend more time with family!
