Winter Fun!

We all got some quality time together last week as we had what the news stations titled "Blizzard 2011" Overland Park got 12 inches of snow in a 20 hour period. We are on busy streets so we fortunately were plowed out early. Bruce got the joy of shoveling the driveway and sidewalks. For the record, I would have helped but we had both kids home and he broke the good shovel so we only had one. So much for the lifetime warranty! We were actually home the second day because Opa and Tanta's street were not so fortunate as ours. The cons of living on a cul-de-sac I suppose--last to get plowed out.

We played in the snow a little bit though this weekend. I bought Em a new pair of snowboots this winter and wanted to make sure we got some use. We don't get as much snow as you Iowa peeps so getting our money's worth is not as easy as one would think. Em and I made a minature snowman in the front yard using sweet gumballs as eyes- who knew those stupid things could serve a purpose!

Isaac had his 1 month check up last week. He is growing like a weed. He is over the 9# mark and in the 30th percentile for weight and 20th for height. I think he is going to have Bruce's build and my families looks. Interestingly, Emerson has my build and Bruce's families looks. Thank heaven's that Emerson did not get Bruce's thighs!!! On men, it is an excellent trait...on women it is years of body image issues!
